Silver Creek Dragon Families,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Silver Creek School Board and Dr. Briggs for naming me the Principal of Silver Creek High School as well as express my appreciation of the warm welcome that many of you have provided me over the past few weeks.
This fall will mark my 31st year in education. Over that time I have served in a variety of roles. My first position in education was an English teacher, head wrestling and assistant football coach at Saint Xavier High School in Louisville, KY.
After 7 years at St. X I moved back home to my alma mater, Floyd Central High School. There I served the school in a variety of capacities such as an English teacher, head wrestling coach and assistant football coach. In 2008, I then moved into administration where I was an assistant principal for 8 years. I then became the 6th principal in the history of the school in the fall of 2016.
Along the way, I earned my Master’s Degree in Secondary Education as well as a license in administration and in 2014 I earned my Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Indiana State University.
I am very excited about the opportunity to be at Silver Creek. There is no question that the community has a proud past and is very optimistic about the future. Over and over, I have heard how much I am going to love being a part of this community. That has proven true so far and I expect it will continue!
With the construction project moving into high gear, there will be a number of challenges that we will all need to overcome. I appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding. This community has waited many years for these needed improvements.
Throughout the year we at SCHS will communicate with the students and parents in a variety of ways and we encourage you to stay engaged with what is going on in the school community.
Dr. Rob Willman, Principal
Silver Creek High School
